BIO
Anna Slizinova was born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. From the age of 6 she knew that she wanted to become a singer, but she will never forget the day when she first heard the voice of Maria Callas and Opera became her passion.
She began her music education in Ukraine, and won a multitude of international singing competitions, before obtaining a Master’s in Opera performance from the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona. Since then, she has performed protagonist roles in operas such as “L’Elisir d’Amore”, “Gianni Schicchi”, “West Side Story”, “Die Zauberflöte”, “Orphee aux enfers”, and “Dido & Aeneas”. She has also featured as a performer in city festivals around the world, such as “La Mercè” in Barcelona, “Les Fêtes de Genève” in Geneva, Vienna Music Festival, and Morelia Opera Festival. In 2024 she made her debut in Barcelona’s modernist jewel, Palau de la Música.
Side by side with her work as a performer, Anna has dedicated herself with equal passion to several charitable causes. In 2020, she founded Unlock Art, a non-profit dedicated to the promotion of art, in particular classical music. As its president, she has produced a huge variety of musical events and overseen the creation of educational materials. Furthermore, since Russia invaded her home country, she has been incessantly supporting the victims of the war, either by raising thousands of euros through charity concerts or directly collaborating in the settlement of refugees.
